Florida All-State Choir

Derek auditioned for and made the Florida All-State Choir.  Attending his concert was a highlight of our lives.  The choir performance was outstanding!  It reminded us of going to Heather's BYU Women's Choir performance.  The music was so polished and so beautifully presented.  What a treat to have been there to be part of the evening!

It really was amazing.  They had just spent 3 days together practicing under the direction of Craig Arnold from Manhattan, New York.  Derek loved being part of the choir and enjoyed the whole experience.

They wouldn't let us take photos during the performance so these were taken during the final applause at the end of the concert.
Remember the Where's Waldo books . . . well, Where's Derek?

The All-State Orchestra performed at the concert also.
They are the people in the front of the piano.

There he is!  Looking good in the tux!

  1. Congratulations, Derek! That's awesome that your parents were able to come hear you sing. And with a microphone right in front of you, maybe they were really able to hear you! A question, though... why are you the only one without a tie?

  2. The tuxedos that his school owns are collarless and don't have ties with them. There are a few other kids without ties, too. :-) If you look closely, you can see that everyone had a different kind of outfit.
