Good News
Derek made the Florida All-State Choir! It was an arduous audition process with a written test, a listening test and a sight-singing test in front of 3 judges. Derek qualified to go on in the auditions. He had a month to learn his part in 9 all-state songs. Last week, he sang them for a panel of 3 judges. He got a score of 7 out of a possible 8 points from each judge. And he found out yesterday that he had made it into the choir.
So . . . in January, Derek is heading to Tampa for a few days to be part of a 1,000 student choir.

ReplyDeleteCongrats to Derek!! We always knew he was a talented kid. It's nice when the world recognizes that as well. Hope the concert is a blast!
ReplyDeleteOh, Joseph and Jesse would love to be doing that with you! They just sang in the Treasure Valley Honor Choir and had a fabulous time. I'm sure it's similar, only on a much smaller scale. Way to go Derek!
