Working Man

Derek started his first job two weeks ago during Spring Break. Okay, he has had other jobs--a pet and house sitting business and a lawn mowing business--but this is his first job with an employer, a W-4, a name badge and things like that. So this is exciting stuff for him.

He is working as a Student Range Aide at the Markham Park Target and Shooting Range. He worked 39.5 hours his first week (remember . . . it was Spring Break) and was pleasantly surprised to find out that customers tip the range aides. Typically he'll work around 19 hours a week.

The job is a perfect fit for him and he is having fun. Nice to add some money to his mission and college savings, too!
